First of all, I am not a model. I lack the height, perfect teeth, and a few other important aspects to be one. But awhile back, I had a thought. What if I did indeed have a modeling profile or perhaps wanted to come up with one for the fun of it. What would the content look like? What style or genre would I represent in each photograph? How am I going to pull this off?

These were the questions that flooded my thoughts at the moment.

From seeing America’s Next Top model and a few other modeling shows,  I knew it was not as easy to pose as it seemed. After-all, a picture must express a feeling, tell a story, etc. In addition, as you already know, out of perhaps twenty camera shots, only about one or two might be “good enough” (depending on what you were going for).

Isn’t it crazy how our pursue of the perfect representation of ourselves in our or others’ eyes require so much effort? even though most can attest that a picture does not depict or define who we are.

I guess that is why I personally prefer black and white pictures. They hide the flaws that render us insecure.

I tried and did put together some photographs which I thought would okayishly belong in my fun scrapbooking-like modeling profile.

It was a great process which I encourage because it does boost your self-esteem a little and destroys that pre-conceive notion that only a certain people should or can model.

Personally, I did not have a professional photographer present, so I did the next best thing – I took it upon myself to take these pictures, with a few exception times when I bribed a sibling with some house chores…lol.

I have to admit, it was a little challenging but all turned out quite good.

If you ever were to do it the cheap way like I did, make sure to time your phone or camera by five seconds, so you have plenty of time to run to the front of the camera lens.

Also, in regards to touching up some pictures which you find displeasing, I recommend no more than Instagram filters. However, if you are familiar with Photoshop unlike me, feel free.
