I sure hope I am not the only person hoping that the Hannah Montana sound of Miley Cyrus is still somewhere deep down.
Now, I am not saying that I want her to go back being Hannah Montana. But I do miss her sound. And it’s not her voice, because she’s still got her voice. But the heart, the love in every song. I miss that.
I have lost hope when ‘Dooo It’ was uploaded on Youtube and I could not even watch the whole video. To be honest, at some point, I felt the need to throw up a little and I turned off not just Youtube, but my laptop altogether. And I am someone who has been faithfully in love with Miley even after the twerking explosion.
It was just too much. And I thought, perhaps it was time to give up Miley Cyrus.
However, I spotted ‘Hands of Love’ and thought the title seemed promising. So I clicked it and listened to the song.
And I fell in love, again, with Miley Cyrus.
I felt the warmth I used to feel whenever a younger Miley’s song played on radio. I felt the gentle touch of Hannah Montana’s empowering songs. And I clicked replay too many times already that I knew one thing was happening, that the inspiring Hannah Montana sound is still within Miley.
Now I hope people won’t see my admiration and excitement in a way that I am saying Miley and Hannah are two different people. Because they are just Miley. However, Hannah was the stage of inspiring young girls and women. Hannah was the song of ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ and ‘Ordinary Girl.’ Hannah was the song of ‘the Climb’ and ‘Wherever I Go.’
And it is nice to hear Hannah again.
So with this I say, I have not given up on Miley. Not yet, not with this song.
I just hope she’ll sing more songs like this and return everyone’s faith in her super power: inspiring the youth.
